Asheville North Carolina
Chapter #74
Our chapter members were inspired by Elaine Jo's demonstration. Here are their arrangements made in their homes for our enjoyment.
Here is a YouTube video that our member Kay Storck put together for us to enjoy with some of the photos of the workshop below. Hopefully you will share with friends interested in ikebana or just the love of flowers. ENJOY!
YouTube "At Home Ikebana" Video
The book "At Home with Ikebana" by Elaine Jo is a treatise on the "art" of ikebana placement in the home and the demonstration was a live presentation of the same subject. Various locations were designated on the stage to represent the most popular placement of ikebana in the home. Included were the traditional Japanese tokonoma where arrangements were meant for display and not for interior decorations, arrangements on pedestals to represent the same principle as the tokonoma, coffee tables, dining room tables and kitchen counters. Suitable Ichiyo styles were arranged for these locations. Executive Master Valerie Eccelston was Elaine's assistant.
