"Arrangements Using Glass Containers"

Presented by:  Susan Cano - Sogetsu School

In the summer, especially when it is hot, glass containers that show water have a cooling effect.  It is with this in mind that Susan Cano demonstrated ikebana. There are various types of glass containers including transparent, translucent, patterned and colored.  Water is essential to prolong the lives of plants.  The water can be regarded more consciously as an element of the composition. Focus can be on the different appearance of the plants in water seen through the glass, which offers a new and exciting experience.

Susan emphasized that in the Sogetsu School, color, line and mass are important elements to be considered when making arrangements.

Note:  This was a Zoom Presentation that Susan had produced on a video that we all had the pleasure to watch.  These photos were taken by screen shot during the Zoom and what is shown here is all that was available on the screen.  Therefore, much of the arrangement is not there as well as Susan.  Susan furnished the photos of her completed arrangements.
